Film : “Un sogno chiamato Florida” di Sean Baker
Arriva in sala il 22 marzo, distribuito da Cinema di Valerio De Paolis, il nuovo film di Sean Baker “UN SOGNO CHIAMATO FLORIDA” (The Florida Project), per il quale Willem Dafoe ha ottenuto la nomination all’Oscar come Miglior Attore non Protagonista, dopo aver già collezionato le nomination ai Golden Globe, ai BAFTA e agli Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Presentato con grande successo alla Quinzaine des Realisateurs, il film ha avuto un lunghissimo percorso di festival – da Toronto a New York, da San Sebastian a Londra, fino a Torino dove è stato il film di chiusura – e ha ottenuto moltissimi riconoscimenti: nomination ai British Indipendent Film Awards, agli Spirit Awards ai Gotham e Satellite Awards; è tra i 25 film migliori del 2017 per Sight and Sound, e tra i migliori film dell’anno per il Los Angeles Times; ha vinto come Miglior Film l’American Film Institute Awards, il Toronto Film Critics Associations Award, il San Francisco Film Critics Awards e il Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award (Miglior Attore non Protagonista), il New York Film Critics Circle Awards (Miglior regia e Miglior attore non protagonista), etc.
È stato nelle classifiche dei Migliori Film del 2017 (Sight and Sounds, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Indiewire, Hollywood Reporter…) e la piccola Brooklynn Prince è stata premiata come Miglior Giovane Attrice ai Critics’ Choice Awards: a soli sette anni è considerata l’attrice rivelazione dell’anno, ed è al 1° posto nella classifica di Indiewire delle migliori performance femminili del 2017 accanto a Meryl Streep, Frances McDormand, Sally Hawkins, Saoirse Ronan, Kristen Stewart.
Il film è ambientato a Orlando, Florida, la capitale mondiale delle vacanze, un paradiso ricco di sole al quale accorrono ogni anno milioni di turisti da tutto il mondo; un regno incantato con una miriade di parchi tematici, spettacoli e resort. Però, a pochi passi di distanza, c’è un mondo completamente diverso in cui vivono i personaggi descritti da Baker senza pietismi e con una gran dose di allegria.
“Un sogno chiamato Florida” racconta la storia di una vivace bambina e del suo gruppo di amici le cui vacanze estive si riempiono della sorpresa, dello spirito di possibilità e del senso di avventura tipici dell’infanzia mentre gli adulti intorno a loro attraversano tempi difficili.
