L’Accademia di Brera all’ambasciata di Tokyo.
La sfida per mettere l’accademia di Brera al cuore della vita culturale di Milano è stata al centro di una serata all’ambasciata d’Italia a Tokyo, che ha presentato il nuovo corso del museo con un intervento del suo direttore, l’anglocanadese James M. Bradburne. La Pinacoteca e la Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense sono due simboli del processo di trasformazione che da anni contraddistingue la città. “Dopo l’Expo Milano ha sperimentato un cambiamento in termini di crescita e dinamismo e lo spirito reso possibile dalle riforme del 2014 ci ha permesso di far parte di questa trasformazione. E Brera è solo un’espressione della metamorfosi che ha riguardato Milano”. “A Brera – ha spiegato l’ architetto, designer e museologo anglo-canadese – abbiamo collezioni permanenti stellari. Per questo motivo abbiamo rifiutato di fare mostre e invece puntato sui dialoghi, su una riorganizzazione di tutte le 38 sale, con didascalie innovative, nuove luci, programmi aggiornati e un nuovo spirito. Si tratta di una sfida, cercare di mettere il museo nel cuore della nostra vita culturale. La tutela delle nostre opere è imprescindibile, ma la valorizzazione è una rivoluzione copernicana che porta il visitatore al centro dell’esperienza”.
Durante la serata si è esibito il pianista britannico Clive Britton con due brani tratti dalle suite “Il secondo e terzo anno di pellegrinaggio” di Franz Liszt. Britton ha donato all’ambasciata una copia della lettera scritta dal pianista ungherese all’editore Ricordi, che insieme alla azienda giapponese Panasonic sostengono il complesso di Brera.
“Questa – ha detto l’ambasciatore d’Italia Giorgio Starace – è un’iniziativa che celebra l’arte italiana ma anche l’internazionalità di un polo come Milano e l’alleanza con una grande azienda come Panasonic – che oltre a essere sponsor di Brera sta realizzando altre importanti opere di valorizzazione artistica e urbanistica nel capoluogo lombardo. A dimostrazione di quanto Milano ormai sia un centro d’attrazione: si muovono le aziende giapponesi, si muove l’arte, si muove la cultura”. Starace è tornato sulla nomina nel 2015 di Bradburne a capo del complesso di Brera:” Il fatto che Brera abbia un direttore di così grande fama che non è italiano dovrebbe farci inorgoglire, perché dimostra quanto l’Italia sia diventata un paese moderno e Milano una sede internazionale aperta al mondo”.
