END OCTOBER ON A SWEET NOTE AT SUMMERLONG WITH CHEF JASON LICKER

Singapore, 4 October 2018 – Riverside restaurant known for its beachside vibes, Summerlong will be presenting a three-day only indulgent collaboration with globally renowned Chef and self-published author, Jason Licker from 25 October to 27 October 2018.

Winner of Iron Chef Thailand Pastry Edition, James Beard Nominated Author, Jason Licker, is one of the top global names in pastry with over twenty years in the kitchens of renowned 5-star hotels. Jason has held Executive Pastry Chef positions at Peninsula New York, The Westin Bund in Shanghai, The Venetian Macau Hotel and Resort, The JW Marriott Hong Kong and formerly was the Corporate Pastry Chef for CÉ LA VI Restaurants Worldwide.

Known for utilizing sweet, salty, sour and bitter, while combining textural contrasts and temperature difference, Licker will showcase five of his specialty desserts. Inspired by his interpretation of Mediterranean flavors, these dishes have been created exclusively for the Summerlong pop-up.

His food philosophy to create well-balanced flavors is showcased in the Tahini & Apricot Tart (S$18++). The natural sweetness of the tart is complemented with the lightly whipped savoury tahini mousse and salted toffee for a perfect crunchy ending.

Revisit your childhood memories with Licker’s Chocolate Bar (S$18++). This unapologetically sinful dessert consists of smooth dark chocolate filled with passionfruit caramel, banana, and praline for extra texture. For the inner child in us all!

Licker’s version of a cappuccino, Pistachio, Orange & Saffron Cappuccino (S$16++) is the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Layers of crunchy orange cake crouton are covered with lashings of velvety pistachio mousse, finished off with a light, refreshing orange saffron foam to complement the nutty flavor profiles.

The Turkish Coffee, Cardamom & Figs (S$16++) encapsulates the true essence of the Eastern Mediterranean. The Arabic-inspired flavors of the cardamom cake are completed by the decadent Turkish coffee cream. This moist, fragrant cake is finished with honeyed figs for a contrast of freshness.

For those inclined towards a lighter option, try the Greek Yogurt & Citrus (S$16++). Delicate Greek yoghurt mousse features a tangy citrus centre, delightfully heady without being overpowering. This light and airy dessert incorporates the added element of minted citrus for overall sharpness and freshness.

Tickle your senses with a dessert journey hard to forget.
