Le Café Alain Ducasse launches new non-alcoholic coffee cocktails, and more

Ducasse Paris’ signature coffee brand, Le Café Alain Ducasse, is delighted to introduce its 2019 summer  offering which sees new non-alcoholic cocktails taking centre stage alongside cold brew coffee on tap, cascara drinks served iced tea or whisky-style, and new Nespresso© compatible pods. Complementing the brand’s existing single-origin coffees and quality blends roasted at La Manufacture de Café Alain Ducasse in Paris, these are all now available at the UK’s first Le Café site in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross.

Brand new for Le Café, the team of cafeliers have created three non-alcoholic cocktails that thoughtfully use coffee and cascara to present delightfully innovative takes on classic tipples. Visitors to the coffee boutique can choose from the Virgin Negroni (£6), where an intense cascara infusion is complemented by a dash of nitro cold brew and finished with half a slice of orange and Timut pepper. Otherwise, try the Panama Tonic (£6), Le Café’s take on a traditional gin and tonic, made using a Panama Geisha double espresso, topped with tonic, and served with a slice of lemon and a sprig of rosemary. Finally, for a more indulgent experience, why not enjoy the White Russian (£6), a fully shaken drink made with cold brew ice cubes, Le Café’s hazelnut milk, muscovado sugar syrup and finished with a dash of nitro cold brew.

Guests to Le Café can also sip on their signature refreshing cold brew coffee. Served on tap and draught like beer, the coarsely ground coffee is cold-infused for at least 24 hours and then filtered, resulting in a deliciously aromatic and refreshing summer brew (£6), and can also be bottled for take-away (£4). Alternatively, Le Café also offers their cold brew cascara, an infusion made from the dried skins of the coffee cherry, served in an iced-tea style (£6), a refreshing and fruity drink with notes of sour cherry; or whisky-style (£6), with an intense eight-hour brew resulting in a rich and complex flavour with notes of gooseberry. Both styles of the cascara drinks are available to enjoy in-store or in discreetly designed 200ml takeaway bottles (£4 each).

Also new for summer 2019, Le Café is delighted to introduce a range of Nespresso© compatible pods. These have been specially created to encapsulate the brand’s signature espresso blend, an ideal choice for at-home drinking. Made using beans from Brazil, Laos and Ethiopia, it is characterised by its perfectly balanced acidity, full body, and grilled almond notes. The pods are available for purchase in packs of 10 (£3.80) or 120 (£42) in the boutique area towards the back that also displays products to purchase for home use, including packaged coffee and state-of-the-art equipment for retail.

Taking on the world of coffee with the same standards of excellence as found in his cuisine, Alain Ducasse showcases through rigorous sourcing and preparation of high-quality ingredients at Le Café that the journey from the coffee bean to the cup is one taken with care over time. And so, too, is the experience of drinking coffee at Le Café. Watch carefully as the skilfully trained ‘cafeliers’, who combine the knowledge of coffee, a warm sense of hospitality and precise skills, take you through their preparation of the coffee and savour the flavours of Africa, South America and Asia with every sip.
